A pretty, hand carved cameo brooch with blush pink tones. The shell is pink because it is carved from the ‘queen conch’ shell, which is the female shell of the species. Notice the depth of the carving and pretty adornments in the hair.

The brooch is Circa 1890s with a C clasp and a pin safety chain. The setting doesn’t have a hallmark, but it acid tests 15ct yellow gold. The brooch measures approximately 3cm x 2cms so it’s not too large and it would look good at a pendant if a bale was added to it.

This is an unusual cameo with a subtle pink hue that makes it a great addition to any cameo collection.
