ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER ANNIE BROOCH CIRCA LATE 1895

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER ANNIE BROOCH CIRCA LATE 1895

A$150.00

A Lovely Example of Victorian Silver Jewellery Circa 1895

This quaint, sterling silver brooch is handmade and carved with the name Annie. It has little daisy flower carvings around the edges.

There are no hallmarks on this piece, but research shows that they were mainly made in either Chester or Birmingham. It is reputed that these name pins were first worn by the servants in England's large country houses. The pins quickly became a popular form of sweetheart brooch for the sentimental Victorians. The popularity of the brooches continued through the Edwardian period into the 1920's.

The brooch, hook and pin are in excellent condition and it closes securely. It measures approximately 4cms x 2cms. What a lovely, personal gift this would be for your Annie!

It will be sent in a gift box (not pictured) via Express post free of charge to anywhere within Australia and we accept returns within 7 days of receipt. International buyers are most welcome.
